About me

Hi, I’m Dr. Diana Sharp!

I can’t wait to help you achieve a more stress-free parenting life as you nurture your child's gifts.

I spent my career helping schools and technology companies explore ways to accelerate student learning, using the latest research on how people learn best. At the same time, I thought deeply about how to apply this science of learning to my job as a mom.  I constantly asked myself:  What does the research say about how I can best nurture my own children's curiosity, love of learning, and success in school and life? As my children grew, I saw which parenting techniques were so powerful that it made others seem a waste of time.  By knowing what my husband and I could do that made the most difference and had the largest benefits, I could focus on the big things and let go of the things that didn't matter, making my life as a career mom so much less hectic and so much more fun!

Both of my children became National Merit Scholars and are now in careers they dreamed of and chose for themselves. I was so fortunate to be a mom and a cognitive scientist, surrounded by leading researchers who pushed the boundaries of our knowledge on human learning. Now I  feel compelled to share what I learned with other parents. I truly believe a new science of parenting is emerging that makes it easier for everyone to raise brilliant children without the stress and ineffective burdens of today's competitive parenting culture.  This new science can also help more parents avoid the traps of well-intentioned but off-target messages from schools that kill creativity, motivation, and true achievement instead of nurturing them.  Join me and other parents in continuing to explore this new science of parenting together in the Everyone is Gifted Movement.
